Ffxiv is Archer Bard Easy to Solo 2018

When it comes to playing FFXIV one of the biggest perks that players will quickly want to take advantage of is the ability to change Classes or Jobs. Unlike most other RPGs, none of the Jobs are bound to a specific Race or Gender, essentially allowing every player to play any Job they want and opening up the potential for all players to max out all of their Jobs.

While players will have to choose a Job as soon they enter the game they will be able to quickly choose a different Job to play by locating the Job's quest line in one of the first major cities.

Now, it should be noted that not all Jobs will be unlockable from the get-go as the Jobs from the more recent expansions require players to hit a certain level in order to unlock. For example, the Red Mage (my main Job) requires players to hit level 50 before they unlock it. Though this is true, players will still have a large selection of Jobs to play ranging from all Classes, being Tanks, Healers, Magical Ranged DPS, Physical Ranged DPS , Melee DPS, Crafters and Gatherers.

As a players who initially started with the Thaumaturge and quickly realized how difficult it was to solo adventure in the world, I switched my main Job to either the Archer or Arcanist very early on so I could progress my main story smoothly and kill mobs in the Overworld without being interrupted every time I tried to deal damage.

The most lovely part about being able to switch Jobs is the fact that as soon as players are ready to play a class they've shelved they can always go back to it. In my case it was shelving the Thaumaturge until I was able to to level up my Chocobo Companion until it was ready to tank Mobs so I would be able to deal damage without being interrupted, otherwise it was simply death for me due to it's long Cast times. I'm happy to say that even though I took a break from the Thaumaturge, I am now a Black Mage sub-job, often choosing to do higher level content with it so my group can burst down enemies quickly.

HOW TO SWITCH JOBS IN FFXIV

There are a few ways to switch Jobs in FFXIV, though some are going to be simpler than others.

The fastest way, though not the advised way, is simply by changing the Tool or Weapon from the player's Inventory or Armoury Chest, but this doesn't allow for quick changes amongst Jobs and players will either want to key bind these or at least place them on their HUD for quick access.

In order to set up quick changes for different jobs players will have to go into their Character tab (C) and then must click Gear Set List which is the scroll Icon to the left of the words "Gear Set." It is here that a players will be able to make separate quick accesses to different jobs by clicking the plus sign.

From now on a player will either need to click on the Job they would like to switch to and hit "Equip Set" or drag them onto an extra Hotbar that is shared amongst all Jobs so that they don't suddenly go missing when a player switch Jobs.

From now on players can simply hit the blue button "Recommended Gear" to apply the best Gear suggested for that Job but must hit the two rounded arrows to the right that say "Update Gear Set" to change their presets and ensure that the selected job always has the best Gear from now on.

Before players use the "Recommended Gear" or "Update Gear Set" button, players must make sure that they are saving them to the correct Gear Set as this overwrites whichever Gear Set you are currently in, even if it is not the Job you initially selected. Essentially you will need a single Gear Set for each job.

It should be noted that while Jobs can share Gear Sets, they cannot share Weapons, Shields or Tools, meaning that if a player switches their Tool, Weapon or Shield they will essentially be changing Jobs.

HOW DO YOU UNLOCK EVERY JOB IN FFXIV

As most players are going to at least have every Job unlocked in FFXIV even if they do not use them I wanted to take the time to cover where players can unlock the first quest for every Job.

The following portion of this guide will be listed in order of how soon a player can unlock the Job, essentially letting players know what Jobs they have access to once they join the game and which Jobs they will have to wait to get when they level up:

JOBS THAT CAN BE UNLOCKED ANY TIME

While players will need to complete enough of the Main Story Quest (MSQ) in order to get to the locations where these Jobs are obtained, the following Jobs will be the first Jobs that players get acquainted with so they know whether or not there is a more suitable Job for them to play in the early game.

As I mentioned earlier, my first Job was the Thaumaturge and while I really enjoy this Job in the late game, before I had any friends to regularly play with I regularly had problems grinding specially FATES which for me was the primary way I levelled up my Jobs outside of the Levelling Roulette.

While realistically all Jobs are suitable to play in the early game, as they deal relatively the same damage, players may want to pick up a Job of each type to see whether or not they enjoy a particular play style over another, though I'll be honest… if you haven't played FFXIV before or are a convert from another MMORPG, I strongly recommend beginning with a DPS job as they are the simplest and quickest way to complete the MSQ as they have the highest damage in the game and some of the simpler mechanics.

I would honestly recommend against Healing or Tanking early on in the game as while the Jobs are easily learned players will want to take some time to understand how FFXIV functions and what mechanics they will need to be aware of to be a good team player. Note, this isn't meant for me to gatekeep as you're more than welcome to try any Job you wish, however I will say sometimes players will not be told about certain mechanics or how things work and will have to learn from watching other players.

I will say, if you're new to FFXIV, in my experience the community is amazing, very ready and willing to answer questions new players have. This may be regional as I am on an EU data center, however is seems to be this way for every data center from what I have read from other players online.

TANKS

Tanks are going to be one of the more skilled Classes you take as players will have to learn how to take aggro of all enemies and hold them while players deal damage to mobs. While in the early game a Tanks job is easy, it does progressively more difficult as players will have to learn how to deal with mechanics that other jobs don't have the time to deal with.

Although I recommend a player starts with a DPS job, Tanks are my second choice for jobs, especially due to the ease of mechanics in the early game. If you do choose to play a Tank don't be scared to ask questions at the beginning of the Dungeon or Trial especially if it's a quick "Do I need to be aware of anything?"

In the beginning of the game there are 2 Tanks players will be able to select being the Gladiator (which becomes the Paladin) and Marauder (which becomes the Warrior).

GLADIATOR/PALADIN

The Gladiator isn't the most popular Tank to play in FFXIV as it does not provide players with the most utility in moments of panic, though there is no such thing as a bad Job in FFXIV.

If players have not selected the Gladiator as their first Job in FFXIV, players will have to make their way to Ul'dah – Steps of Thal to the NPC Lulutsu (X:9.2, Y:11.7).

Here players will have to accept the Quest "Way of the Gladiator" which is a very short quest that will provide players with the Gladiator's Weapon the Sword (not providing a shield, though this is required by higher level Gladiators.)

MARAUDER/WARRIOR

The Marauder is a crowd pleaser and is honestly one of the nicest Tanks to have as it has the most utility and it will be the hardest to die with if used optimally.

The Marauder is honestly the only Tank that I have played where I could solo Bosses when a wipe is about to happen, essentially helping ensure that a Dungeon or Trial can be completed if mistakes are made.

If players are new to the game and are adamant about playing a Tank I strongly recommend that you choose the Marauder as it will be the easiest to slide into and acquires the necessary tools for survival fairly early on.

If players have not selected the Marauder as their first Job in FFXIV, players will have to make their way to Limsa Lominsato the NPCBlauthota (X:11.9, Y:6.3).

Here players will have to complete the quest "Way of the Marauder" which is a very short quest that will provide players with the Marauder's Weapon the Greataxe.

MELEE DPS

Melee DPS are my second choice for Jobs and honestly my last choice for things to level up and regularly play. While Melee DPS are arguably the strongest damage dealers in the late game they become somewhat tricky due to the fact that the player will have to position themselves to deal more damage.

Essentially in the early game, players will not have to worry about where they damage a mob from as all of their skills will deal the same amount of damage no matter where they stand, but in the mid-to-late game players will begin learning skills that will require the player to stand in front of, behind or beside a mob in order to deal maximal damage.

While juggling positionals, players will also be at more risk of getting hit by an AoE summoned by mobs as players will have to stand close to an enemy in order to attack it. I will say, this isn't the hardest thing to do and players can practice both kiting and positionals on trash mobs in the overworld as many have AoE casts that the player can practice stunning on.

While stunning enemies is not going to be a Melee DPS' job in most content, other than trash mobs that a Tank will not be able to stun due to their stun being on cool down. When players are in dungeon situations where they are against a Boss, players should always let the Tank interrupt or stun the Boss. If for whatever reason the Tank doesn't seem to stun enemies, a Melee DPS can step in, especially when it comes to trash mobs.

The best thing about choosing a Melee DPS as your first class is the fact that players will not have to worry about being interrupted as there are no Cast times. While I feel like Magic Ranged Classes are easy in the late game, I feel like Physical Melee DPS are easy in the early game, of course this will vary from player to player.

LANCER/DRAGOON

The Lancer is a quick paced Melee DPS and is my second favourite Melee starter class. While the Lancer begins fairly slow it deals a good amount of damage in a quick fashion .

The Lancer doesn't have much to do in the early game, being slow on getting basic skills like an AOE, but in my opinion is a good Job to start with because it's the first to acquire a ranged attack from the Melee DPS Jobs.

If players have not selected the Lancer as their first Job they will have to head to Old Gridania to the quest giver Jillian (X:14.1, Y:5.8).

Here players will have to complete "Way of the Lancer" which is a short quest that will provide players with their first Polearm.

PUGILIST/MONK

The Monk for me was a hard Job to get situated in as it is a bit more complicated (in my opinion) in the early game than the other Melee DPS. My main reasoning for saying this is the fact that the Pugilist gets a Gauge earlier on than other Jobs and instead of having a bit of range, players will have an AoE.

Due to the lack of a single ranged move, I found the Pugilist a bit tricky to use when soloing FATES, though in trash mobs FATES the early AoE was very nice.

If players did not unlock the Pugilist as their first Job they will have to head to Ul'dah – Steps of Nald to the quest giverGagaruna (X:9, Y:10).

Here players will have to complete "Way of the Pugilist" which is a short quest that will provide players with their first Fist Weapons. Yes… that's what they're called.

ROGUE/NINJA

The Rogue is a crowd favourite and tends to be most Melee DPS player's favourite. While the Rogue begins as a very easy Job to play it does get quite a bit more difficult, requiring players to move around mobs to deal the most damage.

The Rogue is one of the best Jobs to play in the late game if players want a challenge, though like all Jobs, there is no best Job or a bad job. Players will simply want to play any Job they enjoy.

If players did not unlock the Rogue as their first Job they  will have to head to Limsa Lominsa Lower Decksto the quest giverLonwoerd (X:81, Y:16.1).

Players will have to complete the quest "My Fist Daggers" which is a short quest that will provide the player with… well… Daggers!

PHYSICAL RANGED DPS

Physical Ranged DPS Jobs are one of the easier jobs to jump into as players will not have to deal with any interruptions and will be able to dodge any AoE attacks as they are not required to stand near mobs or Bosses to attack them.

In the early game there is only one available Physical Ranged DPS class, being the Archer, so I'm going to keep this part short.

ARCHER/BARD

The Archer is a really great Job to start off with as players will be able to deal a good amount of damage passively and quite frankly is the second Job that I maxed out to level 90.

The Archer is one of the first Jobs to obtain a DOT (Damage Over Time) which is essentially an attack that deals a bit of damage every few seconds that can help take down enemies as you run away from the ones attacking you.

Realistically, I think due to the DOTs (as the Archer gains two early on) the Archer is the easiest Job to run the MSQ on in the early game. I will say, the Bard is a very busy Job to play and while I still enjoy it, it's a tad stressful to play in comparison to some other Jobs.

If players have not selected the Archer as their first Job to play they must head toNew Gridania to the quest giverAthelyna (X:15, Y: 12).

Players will have to complete "Way of the Apple" which is a short quest that will provide players with a Bow.

MAGICAL RANGED DPS

Magical Ranged DPS Jobs tend to be my favourite in any game that I play as I'm a big sucker for Mages and general magic classes in any game that I play.

While I can't say that I really enjoyed playing a Magical Ranged DPS in the early game, especially in solo content, as soon as I got into Dungeons and Trials I really found my joy in playing the Magical Ranged DPS.

Admittedly, i feel like all Magical Ranged DPS Jobs are very different than each other and Melee Class DPS feel very similar, making my interest lie in focussing on them.

Although I feel like I don't need to repeat this, I will… the only problem with early game Magical Ranged DPS Jobs is the fact that players will experience a good amount of interrupts in the early game, especially if they aren't playing with friends or don't have a Chocobo Companion. While this is a bit of a downfall, this shouldn't completely discourage a player from playing a Magical Ranged DPS in the early game, I will say everything becomes better when you gain access to the Levelling Roulette.

THAUMATURGE/BLACK MAGE

The Thaumaturge is one of the hardest Jobs to play, especially in the late game, though it is truly very rewarding as it deals some of the highest damage in the game.

While the rotation for the Thaumaturge is "quite simple" on the books, in the late-game players are against a timer in order to get as many Casts as possible and any pauses in between will significantly reduce the amount of damage you do.

As I mentioned, I started off as a Thaumaturge and loved it due to it's complexity and unique play style, however, I have to be truthful in saying that I mostly enjoy(ed) the Thaumaturge against single target mobs as when against single target mobs players can focus on both their rotation as well as avoiding all the AoEs that the Boss summons.

Essentially I mostly like using the Black Mage when in Raids and Trials as otherwise I'd prefer using a Job I don't have to think too hard about.

I personally wouldn't recommend playing the Thaumaturge as your first class and would recommend the Arcanist first so you get used to Casting times before having a longer rotation. The choice at the end of the day is you're and if you're ready for a challenge, go for it!

If the Thaumaturge as your first Job players must head toUl'dah -Steps of Nald to the quest giverYayake (X:7.3, y:12.4).

Players will have to complete "Way of the Thaumaturge" which is a short quest that will provide players with their first Scepter (Staves being the other weapon the Thaumaturge uses),

ARCANIST/SUMMONER

The Archanist, especially the Summoner side of it, is the Job that saw the most changes in Endwalker and has become one of the easiest classes to pick up.

Essentially the Arcanist is the only Job currently that shares it's levelling with another Job, being that this class becomes both the Summoner and Scholar.

For me, the Arcanist is probably the best class for players to start with as it is both easy to pick up and will provide players with two Jobs for the price of one.

I will say, I'm not a huge fan of the Scholar simply due to play style, but having access to both DPS and a Healer in the early game, especially when it comes to getting short queues for a roulette becomes a blessing.

The Arcanist/Summoner will be a pet based class where players will have to control their pets to deal damage. It is quite fun and due to the ease of the Job it's going to be a great introduction to FFXIV.

Cast times aren't the worst on this Job and will slowly ease players into learning how to dodge AoEs at the same time as dealing damage.

If players haven't chosen the Arcanist as their first Job then they will have to head to Limsa Lominsa – Lower Decks to the quest giverMurie (4.5, 11.2).

Players will have to complete the quest "Way of the Arcanist" and will receive their first Book. While Books are the same for the Arcanist before a Soul Crystal is provided, players will use different books and a different Soul Crystal to freely rotate between Scholar and Summoner

HEALER

Healers are going to have to be the most responsive of all Jobs to play in the game as they will be the crux of their team, ensuring that teammates don't drop too low on health.

Healers are also given the task of providing their team with remedies for Status effects, such as paralysis or poison that can prove fatal to a team if they are not resolved quickly enough.

While a Healer is still responsible of dealing damage alongside teammates, Healers will want to have their eyes on their teammates's health bar at all times requiring a good amount of split focus as they will also need to dodge AoEs.

Healing is quite easy in the early game, so this Class should not scare anyone, though if a player is not ready to have a wider awareness and is not aware of all the Status Effects players can be dinged by, it might be a good choice to choose this as a second Class early on until you're used to the mechanics.

ARCANIST/SCHOLAR

Since we've delved a bit into the Arcanist already, this part is going to be somewhat brief. Essentially the biggest difference between the Summoner and Scholar is that the pets that are Summoned are going to either be DPS (Summoner) or Heals (Scholar).

The Scholar is one of the easiest Healers to play at early game as with the right Gear players will be able to sit back a bit and let their Pet do most of the hard work.

I will say, no matter what Job you're playing, later game content simply becomes harder, meaning that a Scholar cannot simply rely on their Pet to do all the work and bringing more skill into the Job.

As the Scholar shares the same base job as the Summoner the steps are the same:

If players haven't chosen the Arcanist as their first Job then they will have to head to Limsa Lominsa – Lower Decks to the quest giverMurie (4.5, 11.2).

Players will have to complete the quest "Way of the Arcanist" and will receive their first Book. While Books are the same for the Arcanist before a Soul Crystal is provided, players will use different books and a different Soul Crystal to freely rotate between Scholar and Summoner.

Both have the same skills at first and upon receiving the Soul Crystal the Scholar's skills become more Healer focussed and the Summon becomes more damage focussed.

CONJURER/WHITE MAGE

The Conjurer is my all time bae Healer. While all Healers are really good, especially with the new addition of Sage, the Conjurer has the most "oh shit!" utility, being able to pop heals that bring players up from little-to-no health to full.

In my opinion, the Conjurer is the easiest Healer to learn and master, though of course it all comes down to play style.

Essentially think of the Conjurer as a traditional Healer while the scholar is a "Barrier Healer" that thinks preventatively instead of reactively.

As a Healer I prefer to be reactive than pro-active as there are many cases where you haven't run a dungeon in years and don't remember the mechanics making it harder to fix with a pro-active Healer than a reactive Healer.

If players have not chosen the Conjurer as their first Job they will have to head toOld Gridania to the quest giverMadelle (X:6, Y:11).

Players will have to complete the quest "Way of the Conjurer" and will receive their first Wand.

JOBS THAT CAN BE UNLOCKED AT LEVEL 30

The Jobs that can be unlocked at Level 30 pertain to Jobs that were released during the Heavensward expansion.

Players were offered a new Tank, Physical Ranged DPS and Healer.

As players will have to wait until Level 30 in order to unlock these Jobs, players will also be happy to know that all these Jobs begin at Level 30, meaning that a player doesn't need to grind as much to bring them to the Level they need them to be.

I would strongly recommend getting a hold of these Jobs early as it might be useful to try them out as soon as you can to see if the Job you're currently playing is the one you actually want to play or if there is a better one.

As someone who is on a mission to get all of his Jobs to Level 90, having these Jobs unlocked early really helped me get all my job's levels up faster as there are level thresholds for different roulettes and at the end of the day one of my favourite ways to grind is through FATES, easily allowing me to level up all my side Jobs around the same speed which will help you save on having to purchasing and repurchasing Gear.

DARK KNIGHT

The Dark Knight is a very interesting Tank to play as is a Tank that requires players to use mana in order empower its attacks.

While I'm personally not a fan of using the Dark Knight as a main Tank and prefer using it as the sub Tank as it deals high damage, but doesn't have as much mitigation as the other Tanks. That being said, the Dark Knight can still be used as a main Tank successfully and the choice will depend on the player.

When players are ready to unlock the Dark Knight the players will have to head toThe Pillars to speak to the quest giverIshgardian Citizen (X:13.2, Y:8.8).

Players will have to complete the quest "Our End" which is a short Quest that will provide players with their first Greatsword.

MACHINIST

I wasn't a huge fan of the Machinist in the early game, however I am a big fan of it in the mid-to-late game.

The Machinist is a strong Ranged Physical DPS Job that has a bit of a unique mechanic, being the only Physical Damage Job that can essentially summon a fighter for the player.

The Machinist is a very simple Job to play, not being the most busy, but requiring players to build up their gaugue so they can unlock a phase of rapid fire attacks that can quickly burst down an enemy.

When players are ready to unlock the Machinist they will have to head to theFoundation to the quest giverStephanivien (X:8.1, Y:10.1).

Here players must complete the quest "Savior of Skysteel" which is a short quest that will provide players with their first Fire Arms.

ASTROLOGIAN

While the Astrologian is a crowd favourite Healer it is one of the more difficult Healers to play as well. The main reason for this is the fact that the Astrologian has access to a deck of cards that can empower other players.

While the Astrologian is busy, it feels close to the White Mage than the Scholar due to the fact that it is responsive and has a good set of heals that drastically bring up an ally's health.

When players are ready to unlock the Astrologian they must head toThe Pillarsto the quest giverJannequinard (X:15.2, 10.0).

Players must complete the quest "Stairway to the Heavens" where they will get their first Star Globe.

JOBS THAT CAN BE UNLOCKED AT LEVEL 50

Jobs that can be unlocked at Level 50 act fairly similar to those which can be unlocked at Level 30, though in the Stormblood Expansion, players were introduced to three new DPS Jobs.

The three Classes for these Jobs are a Melee DPS, Magical Ranged DPS and Limited Job Magical Ranged DPS.

SAMURAI

I'll be honest, I haven't played the Samurai yet, so I can't really give a description about how it feels, but as soon as I do, I will update this post.

When players are ready to unlock their Samurai players must head toUl'dah – Steps of Nald to the quest giverUl'dahn Citizen (X:9.2, Y:9.1).

Players must complete the quest "The Way of the Samurai" which is short and will provide players with their first Katanas.

RED MAGE

The Red Mage is by far the best Job to have in FFXIV and while I recognize that not all players will enjoy playing it, I think everyone should unlock it period.

I'm sure most readers will think that I'm only saying this because I'm a Red Mage main, I guarentee you that this is not the case.

Essentially the Rad mage is a hybrid of a Caster and Melee Job, requiring players to switch between both of these skill sets.

Red Mages are very unique as a Caster as every time they Cast an ability, they will be able to Cast the next ability with no Cast time. So what does this mean? A Red Mage can resurrect allies very quickly, being nicknamed the resbot.

Not only that, but the Red Mage has a very decent heal, being stronger than the Summoner's and while the Red Mage will rarely need to use their heal in group content, it is extremely useful in Deep Dungeons, unsynced content and of course solo content.

When players are ready to unlock the best Job in the game (*cough* okay that was a biased statement) players must head toUl'dah – Steps of Thal to the quest giverDistraught Lass (x:14.1, Y:11.7).

Players will have to complete the quest "Taking the Red" which is very short and will provide players with their first Rapier.

BLUE MAGE

While the Blue Mage didn't technically come in Stormblood, it is a Level 50 Job. Unlike all other Jobs the Blue Mage can only be levelled up to Level 70 and it will not be the most useful. Also unlike other Jobs you unlock at later levels, the Blue Mage will come to players at Level 1.

Essentially, given the fact that the Blue Mage is a Limited Job, players will not be able to queue with it, which makes sense as players will only be able to get their abilities by attacking and killing certain mobs.

I honestly support this decision by the devs as the Blue Mage's abilities are quite over powered and I would personally be very pissed if a Blue Mage was in a dungeon with me and only had 2 abilities.

The Blue Mage is somewhat like a side gig and will actually unlock Blue Mage specific areas, unlocking some high yielding profits for players.

I strongly recommend grabbing a Blue Mage, but would recommend focussing on it when you're bored versus putting all of your efforts into it, given it's limitations.

When players are ready to unlock the Blue Mage they will have to head toLimsa Lominsa Lower Decks to the quest giverZealous Yellow Jacket(X:9.9, Y:11.0).

Players will have to complete the Quest "Into the Blue" where they will receive their first One-Handed Cane.

JOBS THAT CAN BE UNLOCKED AT LEVEL 60

The Jobs at Level 60 are shockingly the last ones I ended up trying as shortly after their release I took a hiatus from FFXIV due to the pandemic.

Admittedly, the Jobs are very interesting to play and are very satisfying.

As is with the Level 50 and 30 Jobs, players will receive these jobs at Level 60, being one of the biggest pros of accepting Jobs like this as the grind for levels is so significantly small in comparison.

These Jobs will be able to complete most, if not all content making them very appealing, though this is the first tier of Jobs that I was feeling confused with what to do with all the abilities I was given and had to start looking at guides.

With the Shadowbringers Expansion came a new Tank and one Physical Ranged DPS.

GUNBREAKER

The Gunbreaker is another Job I picked up and put down almost immediately as I wasn't in need of another Tank at the time, so I will add more to this part as soon as I give it a good play. From what I hear, it is a very satisfying damage dealing Tank, though this is all I really know.

When players are ready to unlock the Gunbreaker they will have to head toNew Gridaniato the quest giver God's Quiver Bow (X:11.5, Y:11.9).

Players will have to complete the short quest "The Making of a Gunbreaker"  which will provide the players with their first Gunblade.

DANCER

While at first I wasn't a huge fan of the Dancer, simply because of the animations and the fact that it is never not in motion, I gave it a big chance in Endwalker and am loving it to pieces.

The Dancer is by far the easiest Job to play in my opinion as everything the Dancer does is DDR.

Essentially players will want to wait until their abilities glow and will want to hit them in rapid succession. If an ability is not glowing, there is no point to use it (other than the two that are your "rotation" which will make the others glow.)

Shockingly, even though the Dancer requires players to essentially play DDR, I find that it is much easier and fluid to play than the Bard, which for me is the closest comparison.

The Dancer is a great Job to have when in a party as players will be able to empower their fellow teammates while completing dungeons and raids, though the one downfall, which isn't really a downfall is that it doesn't have any DOTS.

When players are ready to pick up their Dancer they will need to head toLimsa Lominsa Lower Decks to the quest giver Eager Lominsan (X:9.8, Y:12.0).

Here players will have to complete "Shall We Dance" which is a short quest that will provide players with their first Throwing Weapons.

JOBS THAT CAN BE UNLOCKED AT LEVEL 70

I can't tell you how happy I am with the new Endwalker Jobs and I have to be honest, I don't think that it's just because they're fresh and shiny.

Similar to the majority of the Jobs above, the Endwalker Jobs will come to players at level 70, making them one level away from an easy experience farm in Bozja.

With Endwalker came the introduction to one Melee DPS and a new Barrier Healer and let me say… I love playing both!

While at first I wasn't very excited with the new Jobs as I wasn't a huge fan of the other Barrier Healer and Melee DPS aren't my jam, these two Jobs are phenomenal and a lot of fun… and ultimately why I went back and tried the old Jobs I gave up on too early.

REAPER

The Reaper is a very sleek Melee DPS for players to use and quite frankly is the first Melee DPS that I immediately loved.

The Reaper is a very smooth Job, having a very simple combo and less focus on positionals than the other Melee Jobs.

Due to the way that the Reaper is set up, it taught me enough about positionals for me to go back and try the Melee Jobs that I had missed and truthfully I'm really glad that it was included in this expansion.

Of course, if you know anything about me, I love me a Reaper in general. Dark Jobs make me very happy, so to be introduced to a Job like this was lovely.

When players are ready to obtain their Reaper they will have to head toUl'dah – Steps of Naldto the quest giverFlustered Attendant (X:13, Y:9).

Here players must accept the quest "The Killer Instinct" which is very short and will provide players with their first Scythe.

SAGE

At first I didn't think that I would like the Sage as it feels more complicated than the other Healers.

Instead of being a reactive healer, it is a Barrier Healer as I've mentioned, though it is the most "Barrier" in my opinion.

The Sage focusses on placing shields on allies in order to protect them. Sadly it does not come with any powerful heals, though if players want to, they can change their shields into Heals or simply focus on shielding.

The strategy will differ from dungeon to dungeon.

The Sage is also unique in the fact that it has one skill that empowers all skills, meaning that a player will be using the same abilities or keybinds to Cast different types of spells, being the first time that I've seen this mechanic done.

I will say, the Sage is a bit confusing when you start off, simply because you have a ton of skills that you've never used and because it's play style differs than all the other Healers, but once you get the hang of it… it's such a joy to play! By far, my favourite Healer in the game right now and again not because it's shiny. I can't believe I like it this much, since it's changing me from being reactive to proactive.

Here players will have to accept "Sage's Path" which is a very short quest that will provide players with their first Nouliths.
